John Eghian

85, of West Warwick, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 20, 2019. John was the beloved husband of Nvard Vartanyan and the late Hilda (Yazidjian) Eghian. Born in Avignon, France, he was a son of the late Leon and Arraxi (Nalbadian) Agahan. John was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was very proud to serve at Fort Dix, NJ, then deployed in Germany where he received his citizenship. He was awarded a good conduct medal. John loved to fish and play poker. He was a member of Local 1 Bricklayers Union. He retired in 1995.

Besides his wife Nvard, he is survived by his loving children, Leon Eghian and his wife Mary of West Warwick, and Linda Salas of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of Vicki Banes, Dimitri and Dominic Salas; great-grandfather of William Eghian and Gabriella Salas. He was the brother of Henri Agahan and his wife Yvette of Avignon, France, and Louise Hatchoyan and her husband Lucien of Avignon, France. John was the father in-law of Elvis Salas.

His funeral services are strictly private.
