JOHN DeRENSIS

99, formerly of Cranston, passed away on Monday January 18, 2010 at Cortland Place in Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of the late Ida Marie (DiGiovanni) DeRensis. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Santiano) DeRensis. John was a maintenance painter at Brown University for fifteen years, before his retirement in 1975. After his retirement he moved to St. Petersburg, FL for twenty one years before returning to Cranston in 1998. He was also a self employed painter and worked at Bonnet Shores Beach Club for many years. He was the loving father of John E. DeRensis of Johnston and Barbara A. Rourke and her husband Joseph of Cranston; dear grandfather of five and great-grandfather of four. He was the brother of the late Michael, Domenic, Ralph, Fred and Albert DeRensis and Mary DeBerardis. His funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Ave. Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
