JOHN CARNEVALE

92, of Monson St. Johnston, passed away Saturday April 23, 2011 at Summit Commons in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Assunta "Susie" (Grossi) Carnevale.

Born in Buffalo, New York, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Rosaria (Conti) Carnevale, he moved to Italy with his family at the age of three, and resided there for many years, before returning to the United States. He worked as a custodian for the Cranston School Department for 25 years, before his retirement, and previously worked at Uncas Mfg. Company. John also had a passion for music especially the accordion and he also loved his garden.

He was the devoted father of Filomena "Mena " Pompei and her husband Rocco and Joseph Carnevale; dear brother of Linda Conti, Anthony Carnevale, Filomena Colella, and the late Rocco, Luigi, Rosetta, Nazzareno, Joseph and Alessandro Carnevale.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Ave Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco's Church 927 Atwood Ave. Johnston at 10 a.m.

Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
