98, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Josephine (Kosman) Cardillo. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Caroline (Bosca) Cardillo. John was the founder of the former A&J Jewelry Manufacturing Company of Providence for fifty years before retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Santa Maria di Prata Society, and the Cranston Senior Center. John was one of the original members of the Providence YMCA.
He is survived by his loving children, Carolyn Spagnolo, Linda Patriarca and her husband Raymond, all of Cranston. He was the cherished grandfather of Robert Spagnolo, Lori Menna, John Patriarca, and Lorna Harrison, and the great-grandfather of seven. He was the brother of Lucy Manzi, Anna Lisa, both of Cranston and the late Guido Cardillo, Mary Altieri, Etta Lorenzo, and Nancy Volpe.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Mark, Garden City, Cranston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted.
