86, of Cranston, died peacefully Saturday, February 6, 2010 at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Giansanti) Campoli. They were married for sixty-two years. Born in Rome, NY, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Carmela (DiMassa) Campoli. Mr. Campoli was employed by the State of Rhode Island for over twenty-five years and retired as Chief of Pharmacy. John was honored as the oldest practicing Pharmacist in Rhode Island. He was a graduate of Providence College and the Rhode Island College of Pharmacy. John was a member of Kappa Psi fraternity and a member of the Rhode Island Pharmacy Association. John was a communicant of St. Bartholomew's Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister, taught catechism classes, and was a member of the Holy Name Society. John was known for his exemplary character, outstanding sense of humor, and his ability to touch other people's lives. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children Richard J. Campoli and his wife Marie of Coventry, Elizabeth Lisa Harkness, RN and her husband Marc, Claudia C. Woodard all of Cranston and the late David V. Campoli. John was the cherished grandfather of David and Jonathan Campoli, Melissa Nolan and Lauren Woodard. He was the great-grandfather of three. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew's Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
