61, of Regal Way, Cranston passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at RI Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Sharon (Dennis) Calestino. Born in Providence he was a son of Josephine (DiFazio) Calestino of Cranston and the late John P. Calestino Sr. Mr. Calestino was a cytologist for over 40 years working for Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket for the past 20 years. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War and loved working, all sports, especially his Yankees and tending his cows and turkeys. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by one daughter: Victoria Elizabeth Calestino of Cranston, three sons: John P. Calestino III and his wife Lisa Calestino of Smithfield, Dr. Matthew T. Calestino and his wife Dr. Rizwana Calestino of Michigan and Frank P. Calestino of Florida. Brother of Robert A. Calestino of Cranston. Uncle of Robert, Lauren and Gian Calestino: Stephen and Michael Mann. Grandfather of the late Michael John Calestino. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 am in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home 1278 Park Avenue Cranston on Sunday 2-4, 7-9 pm.
