80, of Cranston, RI passed away on April 30th, 2012. He was the beloved husband for nearly 59 years of Elizabeth (Correra) Harrell. Joe was born in Carthage, Mississippi to Dan and Christine (Scott) Harrell on August 27, 1931. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He had worked for General Electric Co. at the former Providence Base Plant for 30 years, before becoming the head of maintenance for the RI Department of Corrections in Cranston, retiring in 2005. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three daughters, Cynthia (Harrell) Bailey and her husband Gene, Joanne (Harrell) Miller, and Brenda (Harrell) Melucci and her husband Ralph. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn (Harrell) Cook and her husband Ted of Bossier City, LA, and his brother, Chris Harrell and his wife Margaret of Lewisville, MS. He had nine grandchildren, Justin and Scott Bailey, Christopher, Margo, Alex and Audrey Miller and Joshua, Domenique and Christiana Melucci, Joe enjoyed salt water fishing, country western music, and gardening. He was a talented wood worker and mechanic. He was devoted to his family and his faith in Christ which gave strength to those around him. He will be sadly missed by all. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Funeral Service at 10 am in First Baptist Church, 550 Cowesett Ave., Warwick. Burial with military honors will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Friday 4-8 pm.
