JOANNE DiLORENZO UNSWORTH

63, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at home. She was the beloved wife of forty-three years to Thomas V. Unsworth. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Mario and Flora (DeMatteo) DiLorenzo. Joanne was an optometrist assistant for thirty-five years before retiring in 2009. She was a coordinator for CLCF Cheerleaders, an avid reader, loved her time at the beach, but by far cherished every weekend with her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her devoted children, Cindy J. Karlson and her husband Steven of East Hampton, CT, and Jodi M. Piemonte and her husband Derrick of East Longmeadow, MA. Joanne was the cherished grandmother of Brennan Piemonte, Collin Piemonte, and Samantha Karlson. She was the sister of John DiLorenzo and his wife Eileen of Coventry, Peter DiLorenzo of North Smithfield, and Jane DiLorenzo of Cranston. Joanne was the sister-in-law of Richard Unsworth of Glocester. She is also survived by two nieces Marie DiLorenzo and Michelle Morgan, and two nephews Scott Unsworth and Kevin DiLorenzo.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston Street, Cranston.
