In Loving Memory of Joann Khamvongsa
With profound sadness, we announce the tragic and unexpected passing of Joann Khamvongsa, 39, of Warwick, RI, on February 4, 2025.
Joann was born in Amarillo, Texas, in 1985 to her loving parents, Ked and Tina Khamvongsa. From the very start, she radiated warmth and kindness, always putting others before herself. Her smile was infectious, her spirit unshakable, and her love boundless. She embraced life with grace, strength, and an unwavering devotion to her family and friends, making every moment spent with her truly special.
As a toddler, Joann’s family moved to Rhode Island to be closer to their extended family. Even as a child, people were naturally drawn to her magnetic personality. Her confidence and charisma shined when she won first place in the 2004 Nang Sang Khan Pageant at the Wat Lao Buddhovath Temple of Rhode Island. She dedicated many years to the Laotian community, traveling across the state to perform traditional dances and later encouraging her eldest daughter to follow in her footsteps.
Joann carried this same passion and determination into her professional life. Her relentless drive and dedication led to a successful career as a Portfolio Manager for Commercial Banking at BankRI, where she worked for nearly 15 years. She was a source of immense pride, not only to her family but to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Above all else, Joann was a loving wife, a loving daughter and sister, and a devoted mother to her three beautiful children. She is survived by her husband, Peter, and their children, Kairi, Makena, and Madden, along with her parents and younger sister.
Joann’s absence leaves an immeasurable void, but her love, laughter, and the countless memories she created will forever remain in our hearts. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, February 15th, from 5-7 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. Her Funeral Ceremony will be held on Sunday at 8 am.
