Joan passed away peacefully March 5, 2021 at the age of 87, at her new home in Saratoga Springs New York. She lived the last 4 years of her life in Saratoga Springs, surrounded by her family. She spent her time in Saratoga with her daughter Nicole Finnegan, son in-law Michael Finnegan and her grandchildren. Siobhan, Dylan and Roisin had many laughs and funny times with Nana. They kept her company daily. Before moving to Saratoga Springs, Joan lived 41 years in Cranston RI. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Guido Gargani, Jr. They were happily married for 41 years. They enjoyed playing golf at Pawtucket Country Club, going to Bermuda, visiting many golf resorts in the summer and going out to dinner. Joanne as her husband Guy called her, enjoyed being with people, attending Garden Club, hosting parties, Monday night Golf League and enjoyed time with her beloved daughter, Nicole.
Joan was born in Attleboro, MA. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret (O’Donnell) Wright. She had fond memories with her sisters Helen Brais, Lorraine Pini and Priscilla Brennan on South Washington Street in North Attleboro and at her summer home. She attended college at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. Before Joan was married, she was a social worker at the Wrentham State School and later for the State of RI. Besides Joan’s family, she leaves behind many supportive and caring late brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, next door neighbors, CNA’s and nurses. She truly appreciated the help she received from everyone.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joan’s Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday March 11th at 10 am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cranston RI. Burial will take place in St Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday March 10th 2pm to 4 pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave, Cranston.
