Joan A. (LaFleur) Gannon

76, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 6, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Margaret (Cimaglia) LaFleur, Sr. Joan worked as a bridal consultant and buyer at Tilden-Thurber Jewelers in Providence, then as the bridal consultant manager at Macy’s for many years before retiring.  She had an artistic capability for decorating.  She was a dedicated sister, mother, and grandmother, who loved spending time, cooking, and sharing recipes with her family.  Joan also was a Big Sister for a young lady in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, and she took care of her sick mother for many years.

Joan is survived by her loving children, James R. Gannon and his wife Mary of Coventry, and Thomas F. Gannon and his wife Alicia of Warwick; cherished grandchildren, James Nicholas Gannon, Jessica Megan Gannon and Jack Alexander Gannon. She was the dear sister of Elaine LaFleur of West Warwick, the late Shirley Piekarski, and Edmund LaFleur, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 am in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd., Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd, Suite # 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
