JENNIE (SANTAGATA) SPUNZO
99, of Cranston, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Friday, November 11, 2011. She was the wife of the late Joseph Spunzo. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Angelina (Cimaglia) Santagata. Jennie was the co-owner of the former Spunzo Soldering Company of Providence for twenty-five years before retiring in 1975. She was a past member of the Alpine Country Club and was an avid golfer and bowler.
Jennie is survived by her sister Esther S. Yacovone of Providence, and the late Frank and Clara Santagata, and was the sister-in-law of Paul L. Yacovone, Sr. of Providence and the late Virginia Santagata. Jennie is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew's Church, Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew's Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence, RI 02909-3897.
