Jennie R. (Hertel) Miele 85, left this world on Monday, April 28, 2008, after a short illness, to take her place alongside God with her husband Joseph and son Dr. Joseph Miele. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Strzepek) Hertel, Jennie resided in Johnston most of her life. Jennie is survived by her daughter Jean Buonanno, a registered nurse, and her husband Dan, her son Dr. John Miele and his wife Joanne, daughter-in-law Michele Miele, and six grandchildren Tara Buonanno, Jason, Sean, Michael C., Michael J., and Gina Miele. She also was the sister of Eugene and Frank Hertel, Helen Lavery, Stacia Bouchard and Bertha Villari. Jennie was a devout Catholic who led her life by example, prayer, and believed in the healing power of God. Although small in stature, Jennie had the heart of a lion and the will of a champion. She overcame illness throughout her life and went on to be active and productive in many social, family, and church activities. What Jennie enjoyed most were home cooked meals with family and friends and her weekly Monday luncheons with "The Ladies Club", Phyllis, Carmella and Fran. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
