Jeannette E. (Benoit) Edwards 77, of Cranston, died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Kent County Hospital, Warwick. She was the wife of Walter Edwards Jr. and the late William A. Marchand and George Gobeille. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Aurore (Bergeron) Benoit. Mrs. Edwards was a stitcher for the former Royal Robes Company of Woonsocket and various other companies for thirty-five years until her retirement in 1980. Besides her husband she is survived by her children William A. Marchand and his wife Linda of Grand Junction, CO and Brenda R. Edwards and her husband Donald of Cranston. Mrs. Edwards was the step-mother of Donald G. Edwards, Walter M. Edwards both of Cranston, Dennis Edwards of Stockton, CA, Patricia Viveiros of Wyoming, RI and David Gobeille of Cumberland. She was the grandmother of three and the step-grandmother of nine, great-grandmother of three and the step-great-grandmother of three. Mrs. Edwards was the sister of George Benoit of Woonsocket, Raymond Benoit of Washington, Roland Trudeau and Eva Benoit both of Woonsocket, and the late Cecile Holmes and Armand Trudeau. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pipppin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd. Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
