Jean (DiBello) Aurecchia, 91, of Smithfield, died February 21, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of Adolph Aurecchia. Lifelong residents of Rhode Island, Mr. & Mrs. Aurecchia recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Born on May 1, 1917 in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth "Rosina" (Ottaviano) DiBello. She was the sister of the late Domenic "Tom", William, Ralph, Hugo, and Edgar DiBello and the late Florence D'Arezzo. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Dr. Steven Aurecchia of Chevy Chase, Maryland. Mrs. Aurecchia was also the aunt of eight nieces and nephews. A career office manager, Mrs. Aurecchia retired from Cory Tool Company in 1980 to pursue several personal interests. She also served for many years as a volunteer at the Children's Unit of Rhode Island Hospital. Funeral will be from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
