Jared P. Ventetuolo

54, of Cranston, formerly of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, from complications of cholangiocarcinoma, with his wife and son by his side.

The cherished son of Dennis and Ruth (Lawlor) Ventetuolo of Johnston, Jared attended Sarah Dyer Barnes Elementary, St. Rocco’s School, Our Lady of Providence, and LaSalle Academy, where he met his wife, Nicia. A graduate of Rhode Island College, Jared earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, worked in RIC’s Bursar’s Office, secured a position with The Providence Journal, and went on to graduate from Providence College in 2010 with an MBA. Jared continued his career in accounting and finance at Daly.commerce, Collette (Vacations), and AAA Northeast before accepting the position of FP&A and Revenue Manager with The United Way of Rhode Island. While Jared made lasting friendships in every work environment, he simply loved the culture and challenges he found at The United Way.

An avid Yankees fan, Jared and Nicia made Manhattan, the Bronx, and Yankee Stadium their honeymoon destination. Jared found it amusing to wear his Yankees ball cap on the streets of Boston, and stood out from the crowd during football season in full Raiders attire as a native New Englander.

Jared played guitar and bass for many years, the former since childhood. While he greatly enjoyed listening to and playing live music, his absolute favorite past time was jamming in the basement with his beloved son, Jacob, whom he deeply loved.

Jared was an all-around nice guy. He was compassionate, respectful, thoughtful, and helpful. A friend to everyone, he was a lover of animals, a huge fan of Christmas Eve, and a great believer in putting family first. He included Downtown Providence good, strong coffee and Pug dogs amongst his favorite things. He will be missed in ways that are impossible to put into words.

Jared‘s family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Abrams of Dana Farber Cancer Institute, for always taking the time to sit and reassure Jared, for never being in a rush, and always being concerned. They would also like to acknowledge the nursing staff of Tower 10 C at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, particularly Ellie R. who bonded with Jared and Nicia immediately and was a constant source of hope, support, and kindness for them.

Besides his wife, parents, and son, Jared also leaves his sister, Dana Ventetuolo of Cranston, his brother, Dennis (Rebecca Murray) of Lincoln, his niece, Romi Ventetuolo, and his mother-in-law, Sandra Gendron. He was the son-in-law of the late Henrie P. Gendron and the late Ronald F. Travers. He was the Uncle of the late Nico Ventetuolo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11am in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Sunday from 4-7pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, Jared asked that donations be made to the United Way of Rhode Island so that they may continue to do good things for the community, including the Good Neighbor Energy Fund, and the 211 Helpline.
