Janet A. (Gibson) Whiteley

JANET A. (GIBSON) WHITELEY, 65, of Fountain Ave., Cranston and Miami Beach, FL, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Hope Hospice in Providence surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife for 35 years of Theodore M. Whiteley, III and loving and cherished mother of Theodore M. Whiteley, IV of Cranston.  Born in Providence, she was the devoted daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Zangrilli) Gibson.

Janet was Executive Secretary to former Johnston Mayor Joseph A. Polisena, Sr.  She enjoyed going to the beach and entertaining her friends at her family pool.

Besides her husband and son, Janet was the dear sister of Larry Gibson of Cumberland, Christine Giblin of East Greenwich and Karen Gibson of Cranston, and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 11th at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 10 a.m.  Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
