58 of Cranston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 10, 2022, surrounded by loving family. Janet passed away after a year and eight-month battle with a rare form of cancer. She fought with grace, courage, and dignity. She was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt and friend.
She will always be remembered for not only her exterior beauty but, more important, her interior. Janet was loving, always honest, compassionate, trustworthy, and loyal person. She also had a way of encouraging the same characteristics in others.
Janet had a career as a highly respected Realtor for 38 years. She worked in the family business of "Albert Realtors", also working in partnership with her sister Carole Scaralia of the "Scaralia Group/ Sisters and Company". Janet always strived for excellence and performed diligently for all her clients and customers, providing them with exemplary service. She was a creative and detailed oriented person. She was often credited with being a perfectionist. Janet lived by her personal mottos of If you are going to do something, do it Right" (in her case PERFECT) and, most important, "Do unto others as you would want to be done onto you."
In her early years, Janet was an avid equestrian rider. She had many horses over the course of her riding career, but her true love was her horse named Mickey (known by the show name of Jesse James).
Janet had always been a lover of animals throughout her life. She was the type of person that if she saw a turtle on the road, she would stop and carry it to a lake or stream for safety. Janet had been an animal rescuer all her life. Her beloved rescue dog Winston (who sadly passed away seven months ago) was her love and joy. She also had another rescue dog, Marcelo who is still loved and cared for today.
Janet is survived by her loving parents, Albert and Margaret (Myers) Scaralia of Cranston; her siblings, Deborah Scaralia Mathers (and husband Michael) of Cranston, Carole Scaralia (and the late Larry Amato) of Cranston, Robert Scaralia (and wife Candace) of Cranston. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephew Jacqueline Swift, Esq. (and husband Colton Russo) of Cranston, Sarah Swift of Cranston and the late Andrew Mathers of Warwick. She also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A heartfelt thank you to the Miriam Hospital Cancer Center, for all the great care they provided to Janet during her battle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 15th, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Parish located on Oaklawn, Avenue in Cranston, Rhode Island. Burial will follow at Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local animal rescue in Janet's memory.
