JAMES L. SOUTHWORTH, JR., 57, of Darby Rd., North Scituate, passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 at The Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband for 29 years of Deborah A. (Brough) Southworth. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James L. and Caterina (Carbone) Southworth, Sr. James was employed by Lifespan for a total of 34 years, and dedicated his last seven years to The Miriam Hospital as an Electrical Engineer, well respected by all, and touched the lives of many. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in January 1988 from Rhode Island College, and was a RI Air National Guard Veteran before retiring as a Master Sergeant after 20 years. He was a member of the 102D Air Craft Control and Warning Squadron Association. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and had a passion for music. He was the dear brother of Mark S. Southworth and his wife Holly of Johnston and loving uncle of six nieces, two nephews and one great niece and two great nephews. He was the devoted brother-in-law to Sandra Fiore of Smithfield, Walter Brough of North Scituate and Patrice Lund of Exeter. Jim is also survived by his loyal dog Tasha. Funeral from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Friday at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
