52, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of twenty-eight years to Maria L. (Quinones) Ramos. Born in Patterson, NJ, he was a son of Miguel Ramos of Patterson, NJ and the late Maria A. Matos. James was a cabinet maker for Grinnell Cabinets of Cranston for the past sixteen years. He was a volunteer along with his wife for the Ovarian Cancer Society. James was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Mary L. Alves and her husband Michael, Gwendolyn O. Ramos, and Bernadette D. Ramos, all of Cranston. James was the cherished grandfather of Naima and Niko Alves. He was the devoted brother of Joseph Perez of Warwick, Ronnie Perez and Celia Perez, both of St. Petersburg, FL, and Yvonne Ramos-Longo of Cranston.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 64 Brayton Avenue, Providence, RI 02903-1696. Interment will be private. VISITING HOURS Thursday 5-8 p.m.
