54, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. Born in Providence, he was a devoted son of Angela A. (Mercurio) O'Connell of Cranston, and the late James P. O'Connell, Jr. James was employed by the former Royal Roost Restaurant in the Providence Civic Center until its closing, then became a crew member at the Providence Civic Center before retiring after twenty five years..
Besides his mother he is survived by his sister Donna A. Durigan and her husband Chris, and his brother Timothy J. O'Connell, all of Cranston. James was the uncle of Timothy J. O'Connell, Jr., Kathleen, Meagan, Christopher and David Durigan.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-8 p.m
