James "Jim" Palumbo, 74, of Pengrove Street, Cranston, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Cedar Crest Nursing Centre, Cranston. Beloved husband of fifty-four years of Shirley (Bagley) Palumbo. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Assunta (Scipione) Palumbo. Mr. Palumbo was the owner-operator of the former West-Side Electric Company of Cranston and had been an electrical contractor for over 35 years. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and loved gardening. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons: James Palumbo and his wife Marilyn of East Greenwich, Michael Palumbo and his wife Karen of Cranston, Jeffrey Palumbo and his wife Donna of Houston, TX, eight adored grandchildren, three sisters: Marie Mac Lane of Lady Lake, FL, Elaine Pagliarini of Warwick, Pauline Simoneau of De Bary, Fl, two brothers: Anthony Palumbo and Edward Palumbo both of Cranston. He was also the brother of the late Marjorie Smith and Frank Palumbo. Jim is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Ann's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home,1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday 4:00-8:00 pm. Committal prayers will take place at Swan Point Cemetery Chapel.
