James C. "Sparkey" Pakuris 81, of Greenwich Ave. Warwick, passed away Tuesday April 8, 2008 at home. He was the husband of the late Elena (Chemenas) Pakuris.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Christopher and Cora Pakuris. Mr. Pakuris was a Master Chief in the United States Navy serving in WW-11 and the Korean War.
He was the owner and operator of the former Sparkey's Restaurant of Cranston for many years before retiring. He is survived by his children, Christopher J. Pakuris, Esq. of Media, PA. and Evalena Pakuris of West Chester, PA., grandchildren, Justin, Jordan and Ethan Pakuris, a sister Alma Pappas of Broomall, PA. and the late Nicholas Pakuris, Melpa Pakuris, Beatrice Tsumakis, John Pakuris and George Pakuris.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by services in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 175 Oaklawn Ave. Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
