66, of Scituate, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Christine (Gallagher) Lane. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Robert E. Lane and Anna M. (LaCourse) Lane Harper.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children Jake E. Lane and Hailey A. Lane; devoted siblings Robert E. Lane, Jr. (Susan) of Exeter, Janet E. Robinson (Earle) of Cranston, and Ann M. Scambio of Cranston; cherished nieces and nephews Robert J. Lane (Wendy), Amanda Jean Corey (James), Ryan R. Scambio (Anna), and Jaimie L. Rafferty (Brendan); adored great-niece and great-nephews Avery Lane, Robbie Lane, Liam Rafferty, and Charlie Rafferty.
James was a U.S. Air Force-ANG Veteran, reaching the rank of Master Sergeant with 33 years of service. He got to travel the world through his job and experience many cultures and backgrounds. He made lifelong friendships and considered many of the guys he worked with to be his brothers.
VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Inurnment with Military Honors will take place in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
Dress for comfort and the weather, Jimmy hated being hot.
