65, of Cranston, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at RI Hospital in Providence following complications from open heart surgery. He was surrounded by his loving family throughout his hospital stay. He was the beloved husband of Marlene (Cicerone) Gamba. Born in Providence, he was the son of Alfonso and Pearl (Stone) Gamba of Cranston. James spent his entire career in the food industry working for Almac's for 28 years leaving as VP of Meat & Deli.
Upon leaving Almac's, for the past 20 years, he was IT Director for TryAngle Foods in Norwell, MA. James was a graduate of Cranston High School West and Johnson & Wales University. Jim's greatest joy was spending time with his family. He loved preparing his annual Christmas Eve Dinner. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Patriots, Red Sox and playing golf.
Besides his wife he was the devoted father of Renee Gamba and Melody Gamba both of Cranston. He was the dear brother of Patty Ianni of Cranston, Carol Lupoli of Johnston and Paula Arlia of Cranston.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St. Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
