Isabel A. (Nuñez) Batista

Isabel A. (Nuñez) Batista 84, of Providence, R.I., passed away Monday, January 20, 2025 at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, R.I. surrounded in prayer at her bedside with her children and siblings. 

She was an extraordinary woman who dedicated her life to her family and service to others never expecting anything in return. She was extremely generous and compassionate living through her catholic beliefs and values of loving your neighbors and those in need of love and attention. She was a blessing to many and will be missed forever by her children and immediate family and friends. Her memory will live on in our hearts and those who she touched. Isabel was the beloved wife of Lucas A. Delgado Batista. Born in the province of Santiago (Los Ciruelos) Dominican Republic. She was the loving daughter of the late Manuel and Ysabel (Tavarez) Nuñez.

 Isabel was a hard worker all her life and was employed by Speidel Textron in Providence as a Bolt Tender for many years before retiring. Besides her husband she was the devoted mother to Janet Batista Pichardo, married to Juan M. Pichardo, Justiano Batista, Manuel Batista, Dennis “Stevie” Batista and Mario “Mariano” Ferreira married to Jannette Marrero Ferriera; loving grandmother of fourteen and loving great-grandmother of four. 

She was the dear sister of Roman Nuñez, Manuel Nuñez, Juan Nuñez, Freddy Nuñez, Deisy Tavarez, Melania Sanchez, Luz Rodriguez, Juana Nuñez, Francisca Mercardo, Clara Durfee, Maritza Cepeda, Maria Lopez, Benita Perez and the late Quilvio Nuñez and Justiniano Nuñez.

 Her visiting hours are Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 4 pm – 7 pm at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, R.I.Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 8:45 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church, Providence, at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church St. Cranston, R.I. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Michael’s Church, 239 Oxford Street, Providence, RI 02905.

Isabel A. (Nuñez) Batista84, de Providence, R.I., falleció el lunes 20 de enero de 2025 en el Women & Infants Hospital en Providence, R.I. rodeada de oración junto a su cama con sus hijos y hermanos. 

Fue una mujer extraordinaria que dedicó su vida a su familia y al servicio a los demás sin esperar nada a cambio. Fue extremadamente generosa y compasiva y vivió según sus creencias y valores católicos de amar al prójimo y a los que necesitan amor y atención. Fue una bendición para mucho y sus hijos, familiares y amigos. 

La extrañarán por siempre. Su recuerdo vivirá en nuestros corazones y en aquellos a quienes tocó. Isabel era la amada esposa de Lucas A. Delgado Batista. Nació en la provincia de Santiago (Los Ciruelos), República Dominicana. Era la hija amorosa de los fallecidos Manuel e Ysabel (Tavarez) Nuñez.Isabel trabajó fuertemente toda su vida y fue empleada para Speidel Textron en Providence como cuidadora de maquinas durante muchos años antes de jubilarse. 

Además de su esposo fue la devota madre de Janet Batista Pichardo, casada con Juan M. Pichardo, Justiano Batista, Manuel Batista, Dennis “Stevie” Batista y Mario “Mariano” Ferreira casado con Jannette Marrero Ferriera; amorosa abuela de catorce nietos y amorosa bisabuela de cuatro. Era la querida hermana de Román Núñez, Manuel Núñez, Juan Núñez, Freddy Núñez, Deisy Tavarez, Melania Sánchez, Luz Rodríguez, Juana Núñez, Francisca Mercardo, Clara Durfee, Maritza Cepeda, María López, Benita Pérez y los fallecidos Quilvio Núñez y Justiniano Núñez.

 Su verlorio es el domingo 26 de enero de 2025 de 4:00 p. m. a 7:00 p. m. en NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, R.I.Su funeral se llevará a cabo el lunes 27 de enero de 2025 a las 8:45 a. m. en NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, R.I., seguido de una misa de entierro cristiano en la iglesia St. Michael's, Providence, R.I. a las 10 a. m. El entierro se realizará en el cementerio St. Ann, 73 Church St. Cranston, R.I.
