Irene V. ( Bagley ) Nicholas, 93, of D'Evan Manor, Cranston St., Cranston passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Herbert V. Nicholas Sr. She was born in Cranston a daughter of the late George F. and Alma R. ( Johnson ) Bagley Sr. and she was a lifelong resident of Cranston. Mrs. Nicholas was a supervisor employed by the State of RI School Lunch Program for many years. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church, Cranston and had volunteered at the McAuley House, Providence for 25 years. She is survived by her children, Herbert V. Nicholas Jr. of Cranston, Barry J. Nicholas of Charleston, SC, Nancy A. McGowan of Spalding, NE and Linda R. Hanley of West Warwick. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Mae E. Kullberg, Ethel R. Curran, George F., Frederick E. and Walter H. Bagley. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann's Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 10:am. VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-8pm. Burial will take place in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Church Renovation Fund, McAuley House or Philip Hulitar Unit of Home & Hospice Care.
