ILDA R. PENSALFINI
80, of Susan Circle passed away on Wednesday May 5, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. She was the loving wife of Raymond Pensalfini. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (DeStefanis) DeStefanis.
Mrs. Pensalfini was the personal legal secretary for former Governor Frank Licht. Ilda started as a teachers aid in the Johnston school department working her way up to Secretary for the Superintendent of the school system. She was also the secretary for the Johnston school committee.
Besides her husband she is survived by her children Lori A. Ruggieri and her husband Steven of Cranston and Raymond S. Pensalfini of Johnston. Ilda was the cherished grandmother of four. She was the sister of Raymond, Anthony and Robert DeStefanis, Ronda Faella, Connie Tella, Babs Verrengia and the late Gus DeStefanis and Tina Ciano.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
