41, of Coventry, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 18, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Alisha Procaccini. Born in Providence, he was the loving son of Edward Evans and Mary (Ochsner) Evans.
To all who were blessed to know him and have him in their lives, Ian was a true friend, the rock we could turn to in difficult times, the first to offer a helping hand. Always ready with a smile, he reveled in being surrounded by his family and friends, whether for special occasions, or for no reason at all. He loved completely and unconditionally. And while he was successful in his career, there are certainly better, truer measures of a person’s worth in this life. As Clarence wrote to George in It’s a Wonderful Life, “No man is a failure who has friends.” By that measure, Ian was rich beyond comprehension. This world has lost a shining light.
Ian was a true sports fanatic and supported all the New England teams, especially his beloved Patriots, attending every playoff game en route to their 2001 Super Bowl victory. He grew up playing and loving the game of basketball, a proud member of Cranston East’s 1998 basketball brotherhood, all of whom he counted among his most cherished friends to this day. He was also a bonafide sneaker head, mainly collecting Jordans, and took lots of ribbing from his friends and family for his love of these shoes he very rarely wore.
In his earlier years, Ian was a professional bartender working at various establishments, and at one time competed in a national bartending competition in Texas. Most recently, Ian worked as a Network Manager for United Healthcare’s Optum.
Besides his wife Alisha and parents Edward and Mary, he is survived by his cherished daughter, Hailee Evans of Scituate, his heart and soul and of whom he was so proud; treasured brother and best friend Connor Evans of Warwick; step-mother Judy Annis; step-brothers Scott Annis, Danny James and David Annis; father-in-law and mother-in-law Anthony and Annmarie Procaccini and brother-in-law Anthony Procaccini, Jr.; and his two fur children, Brady and Chloe.
His funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich. VISTING HOURS will be held on Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
