HENRY LINCOLN VEHMEYER, JR

84, of Narragansett, passed away on May 14, 2013 at the South County Hospital in Wakefield, R.I. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy Lee (Fabing) Vehmeyer. Born in Chicago, IL he was the son of the late Henry Lincoln and Ethel (Crocker) Vehmeyer. He was also the step-son of the late Margaret Vehmeyer.

Lincoln was a graduate of DePauw University. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Korean War era. He was retired from the former F.W. Woolworth Company for which he worked for over 25 years. Lincoln then opened Cherry Lane, Inc. which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He was also a member of the American Numismatic Association for over 50 years.

He is survived by his loving children, Henry Lincoln Vehmeyer III and his wife Patricia of Jacksonville, FL, John Robert Vehmeyer and his wife Pamela of Rockford, IL, Carol Lee Vehmeyer of Westerville, OH, Jacquelyn Sue Vehmeyer and Lulubelle Vehmeyer of Narragansett; his 3 cherished grandchildren; his dear sister Adele Kiddoo of Springfield, IL; his late cousin Walter Page of Narragansett.

His funeral service will be held on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt. 1A), Narragansett. His burial will be private. VISITING HOURS will be Sunday from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Marine Corps League Foundation, P.O. Box 3070 Merrifield, VA 22116-3070 or to the Chronic Disease Fund 6900 N. Dallas Parkway, Suite 200, Plano, TX 75024.
