HENRY V. BOEZI, JR

HENRY V. "ENRICO" BOEZI, 85, of Cranston, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at RI Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Concetta "Connie" (Marrocco) Boezi, and devoted father of Nancy J. Boezi of Texas and Henry V. Boezi III, Esq. of Cranston.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Enrico Vittorio Boezi and Fiorina (Cardinale) Boezi.
He graduated from Cranston High School in 1940 and enrolled in Providence College that same year. Three months prior to graduation, he enlisted in the US Army. He was a veteran of WW-II, serving as a Communications Officer and Interpreter in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theater Campaigns. After he was discharged in September 1945, he enrolled in Boston University and received his A.B. in 1946. He attended Boston University Law School before falling ill. Mr. Boezi managed the Providence Office of Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. in the early 60's and worked as a Claims Adjuster for Providence Washington Insurance Co. and Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. He retired in 1984.
Mr. Boezi was a communicant of St. Bartholomew's Church in Providence and a member of the Holy Name Society, serving as Treasurer and President. He was Chief Usher of the 5:30 Mass on Saturday for over 30 years. He was an active participant in many church functions. Mr. Boezi was also a member of the Lions Club, Providence Federal Hill District and served as its Treasurer for over 20 years. He was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees.
Besides his children, he was the dear brother of Angelina "Angie" Ferrucci of East Greenwich, Eleanor Petteruti of Smithfield, Valentino Boezi and John Boezi, both of Cranston, and the late Domenico and Angelo Boezi and Florence Carducci.
He was a prayerful man.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew's Church, Laurel Hill Ave., Providence at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS TUESDAY 4-8 p.m.
