Henry J. Almagno,Esq.

, 79, of Cranston passed away peacefully at home Wednesday February 16, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Providence, he was the devoted son of the late Emilio and Nancy (Giarrusso) Almagno; and best friend to his father, Mal. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Paliotta) Almagno for 44 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his adoring children Henry J. Almagno, Jr. and Laura M. Almagno. He was also a loving big brother to Lawrence Almagno and his wife Deborah, and Barbara Irons and her husband Thomas. He also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews.

Henry was a graduate of Suffolk University Law School and Providence College and had his own law practice in Rhode Island for 50 years.

Henry’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially around home cooked meals from his wife.  He enjoyed following all sports and was an avid collector of cards and memorabilia.  He had an impressive and deep knowledge of sports history and stats across all teams and players.

His wit, humor, and clever banter made those around him smile and laugh.  His kind and gentle nature provided comfort to loved ones.  He loved to sing and tap his fingers to big band music, talk about old times growing up in Silver Lake, meeting people, and using his Spanish. He was proud of his Italian American family story and honored it by maintaining traditions. His coffee drop offs, pop-ins, and one-liners will be missed. He was the old, gentle soul of our family. He is missed and loved immensely.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston, RI. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Cemetery services will be private.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Kindly omit flowers.  Arrangements by the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.
