Helen W. (Duggan) Reilly

a devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully at her home on January 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 24, 1930, in Providence, Helen dedicated her life to both her profession and her family. 

Helen's remarkable career spanned 50 years as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, where she ultimately retired from an administration position. Her unwavering commitment to healthcare exemplified her profound compassion and dedication to helping others. An esteemed graduate of the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, she embraced her role with a loving heart and an attentive spirit.

She was a communicant of Christ the King Church. Helen was also an active member of the Bonnet Shores Book Club and the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing Alumni. She found joy in traveling, reading, and sharing precious moments with her family and friends, emphasizing the importance of these relationships throughout her life.

Helen is survived by her children, Michael S. Reilly, and his wife Ann of East Greenwich, and Charles F. Reilly, Jr., and his wife Ronda of North Kingstown, Eileen M. O'Shea, and her husband Thomas of Fairfield, Connecticut, and Kara Reilly-Gill, and her husband David of Sutton, Massachusetts. Her legacy continues through her eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Meredith, Caroline, Alexandra, Maura and Matthew Reilly, Kathleen and Thomas O'Shea, Anthony, Liam and Deirdre Gill,  who brought her immense pride and joy.

Helen was predeceased by her husband, Charles F. Reilly, and her parents, Michael and Mary Ellen (McCabe) Duggan. She also mourned the loss of her sisters, Mary Killen and Joan Hearne, both of whom held a special place in her heart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 10 am in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston. Her burial will be private. Her Mass will be live-streamed and may be found at www.ctkri.org/funerals. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.or to Care at Home, LLC, 240 Williams St., New London, CT 06320.
