HELEN M. POPKOWSKI
HELEN M. POPKOWSKI, 96, of Judith St., Providence, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Elmhurst Extended Care Facility in Providence. Born in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of the late Severyn and Stanislawa (Lapinski) Popkowski.
Helen worked at Gorham Manufacturing for many years before retiring. She was the loving aunt of Marion H. Stachowiak with whom she lived, Geraldine Lewis of Bellingham, MA, Eileen Rosenberg of Falmouth, MA, Barbara Carbery of Northampton, MA, Winifred Raven-Hansen of Arlington, VA, Joseph Stachowiak of Warwick, RI, Walter Popkoski of Schodack, NY and Edward Popkoski of Toledo, OH; and dear sister of the late Minnie Stachowiak and William, Joseph and Edmund Popkowski. She is also survived by 16 grandnephews and grandnieces and many great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Broadway, Providence at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
