Helen Gatta passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on October 7th, 2023, at the age of 82. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Virginia (Inderlino) Littlefield, and the sister of the late Edward Littlefield, Jr., and Anne (Littlefield) Schlink. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul A. Gatta. A lifelong resident of Johnston, Helen helped manage her husband’s business and worked in insurance later in her career.
She leaves behind her two sons Jeff and Scott Gatta, along with Scott’s wife Gina. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Aside from her immediate family, she leaves behind the two Godparents to her children Ronald and Marie Parrillo who she also loved dearly.
Helen was an excellent cook and baker. She always made sure her family was well fed and conducted most of the baking around the holidays. She also enjoyed playing cards and golf when she was a member of Kirkbrae Country Club. It is safe to say Helen was a spitfire and knew how to make the family laugh. Helen will surely be missed by her family and loved ones.
