HATTIE K. (KAHUE) DeGALA
Hattie K. (Kahue) De Gala, 81. of Waverly Street, Providence, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 in Providence. She was the wife of the late Jose S. De Gala.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, she was the daughter of the late James and Eliza (Kapu) Kahue Jr. Hattie worked for Jewel Case for 21 years until her retirement. Hattie was a devoted Catholic, and a loving and dedicated mother. She was known to many as "Mommy". She loved being with her family most of all.
She is survived by her devoted children, Celestina Ticzon and her husband Zacarias, Larraine G. Flores and her husband Generoso, Alberto De Gala and his wife Chona, Josefina Arevalo, Cecilia Bagalawis and her husband Leetho, Alicia Tayag, Jamie De Gala and his wife Maura, May Ann De Gala, Lorelei Ngooi and her husband Chiu-Oan Neal De Gala, Antonio De Gala, Arturo De Gala and Samuel Camacho, 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and her brothers Lawrence S. Malone and Philip Kahue.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption Church Providence at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
