90, of Cranston passed away Tuesday, March 14, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Itri, Italy, he was the son of Simone Fargiorgio, and Giuliana Silvia Capirchio. Mr. Fargiorgio was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Assunta Troccoli. He is survived by his three children, his son Simone Fargiorgio and his wife Gaetana and daughter Anna Rita Cirelli and her husband Giuseppe of Cranston, and daughter Antonella Jemail and her husband John of Cincinnati; his grandchildren, Adriana and her husband Joseph, Giuliana, Alessia, Fabrizia, Guido, Marina and Sabrina, and the late Michele Fargiorgio; his great-grandchildren, Luca, Bianca and Leo; and many other nieces and nephews in Italy.
He was the brother of Velia Fargiorgio and Maria Civita Fargiorgio of Fondi, Italy, and the late Giuseppina Ruggieri, Pietrina Fargiorgio, Erasmo Fargiorgio, Salvatore Fargiorgio, Elena Fargiorgio and his twin Amalia Fargiorgio of Itri. In Itri, Guido was well-known for his gelato making and barista skills where he worked for many years at Bar Impero, where he started to work at the age of 14 until he moved to the USA.
He emigrated to the USA on March 15, 1970. Guido was an active member of the Knightsville community, and the St. Mary’s Feast Society. He retired from Vargas Manufacturing in 1996, where he had been an assistant foreman for many years. He loved hosting big parties in his backyard during St. Mary’s Feast. He loved working in his tomato garden, and most of all he was the “chosen” one to make the fish sauce for the “Vigilia” fish dinner.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 19th (Father’s Day in Italy) at 10:00 a.m. from Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial at St. Ann’s Cemetery.
