GUIDO COLARULLI

95, a resident of Narragansett, died on February 3, 2011. Born in Providence, he was the son of Giovanni and Anna (Masso) Colarulli and was the brother of the late Viola C. Rivelli and the late Anthony Colarulli. He graduated from Central High School in 1933 and from the University of Rhode Island in 1937 with a degree in zoology.

During World War II, he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in North Africa, Italy, and the D-Day invasion. In 1945, he joined Metropolitan Life Insurance Company where he worked for more than 30 years, ending his tenure as a district manager in Newport. He subsequently served as the R.I. Deputy Insurance Commissioner.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ernestina (Aschettino) Colarulli; by his sons Donald R. Colarulli and his wife Judy of Narragansett, Chuck Colarulli of Windsor, Connecticut, and Paul F. Colarulli and his wife Susan B. Kaplan of Falls Church, Virginia; by his four grandchildren Elizabeth L. Follansbee, Dana R. Colarulli and his wife Nancy Drane, Peter F. Colarulli and his wife Kathryn H., and Katie D. Colarulli; and by his great granddaughter, Ailinn Colarulli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett. Burial will be private.

Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
