During World War II, he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in North Africa, Italy, and the D-Day invasion. In 1945, he joined Metropolitan Life Insurance Company where he worked for more than 30 years, ending his tenure as a district manager in Newport. He subsequently served as the R.I. Deputy Insurance Commissioner.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ernestina (Aschettino) Colarulli; by his sons Donald R. Colarulli and his wife Judy of Narragansett, Chuck Colarulli of Windsor, Connecticut, and Paul F. Colarulli and his wife Susan B. Kaplan of Falls Church, Virginia; by his four grandchildren Elizabeth L. Follansbee, Dana R. Colarulli and his wife Nancy Drane, Peter F. Colarulli and his wife Kathryn H., and Katie D. Colarulli; and by his great granddaughter, Ailinn Colarulli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Rd., Narragansett. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
