87, of Cranston, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at South County Hospital, Wakefield. He was the beloved husband of Amelia E. (Izzo) Parravano. Born in Providence, He was a son of the late Grimaldo A. Parravano, Sr. and Antonetta (Cerro) Parravano. Grimaldo was a Civilian Cartographer for the US Army Map Service for over thirty years before his retirement. He was involved in filmmaking for local Public Access Network for twenty-five years. Grimaldo also owned a landscaping business for many years after his retirement. He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1950. He was a classical guitarist, preforming since the age of twelve. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children of Matthew S. Parravano of Austin, TX, Peter P. Parravano of Cranston, Paul P. Parravano and his wife Rachel, of Warwick. He was the brother of Lydia DesJarlais of Cranston, Anna Trandicosta of West Warwick, and the late Gian Parravano.
His funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
