Gloria Solitro

Gloria Solitro, 91, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at her Johnston home surrounded by her loving family.

 She was a devoted wife to her late husband Michael Solitro for 65 amazing years. Gloria was born in Providence to the late Albert and Philomena Menna. She was one of eight and her love for family rang true from the very start. She was a loving mother to six children, grandmother to eleven grandchildren, and great grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. 

 She dedicated her life to her family and love was felt by all who knew her. A talented cook, Gloria found joy in preparing delicious meals that brought everyone together, creating lasting memories around the table. She had a gift of making you feel like part of the family when you entered her home. And she made sure no one left hungry. She never turned down a hot cup of coffee, a sweet treat and sharing stories with those around her. Gloria was known for her distinct laugh, her love for the casino and being unapologetically herself. 

 Gloria is survived by her loving children, Francesca Solitro and her husband David Demuth, Paula Arlia and her husband Sam, Elena Pennacchini and her husband Edward, Michelle Solitro-Fitzgerald and her husband Michael, Michael Solitro III and his wife Christine, and Diane Solitro and partner Michael. 

 We will always remember her with love and the joy she brought into our lives. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

 Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday February 14, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Rocco’s Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Everyone is invited directly to the church.
