Gloria M. (Lewis) DeFilippo, 82, of Jordan Ave., Cranston, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008 at RI Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved wife for 59 years of Angelo DeFilippo. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John and Katherine (Mulvey) Lewis, she resided in Cranston since 1955. Mrs. DeFilippo was employed by the City of Cranston as a matron at the Hugh B. Bain School for 20 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the American Legion and was an avid lover of animals. She was known as Nana to her seven grandchildren, and is remembered most for her homemade Christmas cookies, 4th of July parties and Sunday dinners. Besides her husband and grandchildren, she was the devoted mother of Linda M. Catullo and her husband Alfred of Greenville, Anthony M. DeFilippo and his wife Linda of Valencia, CA, and Suzanne Bonetti and her husband Joseph of Johnston. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
