Gloria A (DiTroia) Capobianco

Gloria A. (DiTroia) Capobianco, 87 years old of Johnston, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Angelo Capobianco for 66 years. Born on March 16th,1936, in Providence, she was the daughter of Giuseppe and Rose (Pazienza) DiTroia, and stepdaughter of Rose (Palazzo) DiTroia. She was also the caring older sister of the late Joseph DiTroia and his wife Joanne.  In addition to her beloved husband Angelo, Gloria is survived by her caring children: Julie R. Capobianco, Gina A. Giarrusso and her husband John, as well as her loyal canine companion, Percy. Her cherished grandchildren are Eugene A. Iannelli and his wife Sarah, Daniel A. Valente and his wife Christina, and Gabriella R. Valente. She was a proud great-grandmother to Leonardo and Luca Iannelli. The memory of reaching for Nonna's hand under the table will always be lovingly remembered. Additionally, Gloria is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Gloria and Angelo co-owned Pocasset Market alongside Angelo’s late twin brother Ernesto and his wife Florence, which became an integral part of the Plainfield Street community in Johnston. If you grew up in Johnston, it's likely that you purchased your meat and groceries from Pocasset Market. Her unwavering love and dedication towards her family will eternally create a void within our hearts.

Funeral services will be held at Nardolillo Funeral Home on Friday June 16th at 10 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady Grace Church, Johnston. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday June 15th from 6 pm to 8 pm.
