GLADYS L. (FERRANTE) ROSSI

Gladys L. (Ferrante) Rossi 80, a life long Johnston resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday December 27, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John C. Rossi. Born, in Johnston she was the daughter of the late George and Laura (Jacavone) Ferrante. She is survived by her daughter, Janice D. (Acciardo) Mele of Johnston, Chairman of the Johnston School Committee, her cherished granddaughters, Alicia Mele-Bendza and her husband Irek and Amanda Mele-Faucher and her husband Michael. The loves of her life, her two great-grandchildren, Olyvia O. Bendza and Landon John Faucher. Gladys was the sister of Edward Ferrante, and his wife Elaine of Johnston, and was the step mother of Linda Batura, Carol Cowell, William Rossi, and the late John Rossi. She was the beloved mother in-law of the late John J. Mele, and sister of the late George Ferrante. Gladys also leaves seven step-grandchildren and three great step-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Thomas Church Fruit Hill Ave. , Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday 5-8 pm.
