90, of Cranston passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Kent County Hospital, Warwick. He was the beloved husband of sixty-four years to Florina (Giancola) Ucci. Born in Fornelli, Italy, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Veneranda (Petrarca) Ucci. Giulio was a construction worker for the former Gammino Construction Company for over twenty years before retiring in 1981. He served in the Italian Army during WW II and became a military policeman for the allied forces in Italy. He was a founding member of the Cooperativa S. Pietro Martire, and a member of the Festa Italiana Society.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving daughter Veronica M. Rickey and her husband Fred of Cranston. Giulio was the cherished grandfather of Lisa M. Rickey and Andrea L. Rickey, both of Cranston. He was the brother-in-law of Filiberto, Pia, and Antonio Giancola, all of Italy. Giulio leaves numerous cousins including Domenico Lancellotta, Elio DiCarlo, and Rita Ucci all of Fornelli, Italy.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Entombment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, St. Joseph Mausoleum, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston, RI 02920-3429.
