Giovannina (Russo) Cardillo

88, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 26, 2018, surrounded by her family.  She was the beloved wife of the late Americo A. Cardillo and mother of the late Antonia Cardillo.  Born in Prata Sannita, Italy, Giovannina was a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Carminella (Simeone) Russo.

She was a member of the Santa Maria Di Prata Society Women’s Auxiliary.  Mrs. Cardillo enjoyed cooking, taking care of her grandchildren, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving children Antonia Muccio and her husband Giovanni of Scituate, and Michael G. Cardillo of Johnston.  Giovannina was the cherished grandmother of Joseph Muccio and his wife Allison, David Muccio, Americo Cardillo, Stefano Cardillo and John Muccio.  She was the great grandmother of Victoria, Elizabeth and Leah.  Giovannina was the dear sister of the late Maria Girardi, and Angelina, Pasquale and Alfonso Russo.

Her funeral will be held on Friday from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco’s Church at 10 a.m.  Entombment will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum, Cranston.
