Giovannina (DeLuca) Capobianco

91, of Providence, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 14, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Vito Capobianco. Born in Panni, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michele and Graziella (DelVicaro) DeLuca and was the step-daughter of Colomba (Gesualdi) DeLuca. In 1961, Giovannina immigrated from Italy then settled in Providence in 1966. She was a factory worker for Colonial Knife for over 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, growing many kinds of plants and flowers. Cooking was another cherished interest, which she shared with her family and friends. Additionally, she enjoyed knitting, crafting pieces that spoke of her care and creativity. 

She leaves behind her loving son Giuseppe “Joe” Capobianco and his wife Susan of Providence. She was the cherished grandmother of Stephanie Nelson. Sister of Donato DeLuca of Cranston and predeceased by her sister Grazia Savella and her brother Vito DeLuca. 

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday Sept. 18th, at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Providence. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
