GIOVANNI "BEN" MEZZINI

90, of Trellis Drive, West Warwick, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at Briarcliff Manor in Johnston. He was the beloved husband of Eileen F. (Deighan) Mezzini. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Consiglia (Paparelli) Mezzini.

Ben was a truck driver for Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. in Providence for 40 years retiring in 1981 and also worked for other companies in the Providence area throughout his career and was a member of Local Union #251. He was a WW-II U.S. Army veteran.

Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Eileen J. Davis of Florida and John P. Mezzini of Cranston; loving grandfather of 5; loving great-grandfather of 3; and dear brother of Nicholas Mezzini of North Providence and the late Mario, Cosmo "Sam" and Florence Mezzini and Theresa Venditto.

His funeral will be held Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowessett Rd., Warwick at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be at Mount St. Mary Cemetery in Pawtucket.
