GIOVANNI "JOHN" BUCCI

Giovanni "John" J. Bucci 88, of Bracken St. Cranston, passed away Wednesday June 3, 2009 at the Cedar Crest Nursing Centre, in Cranston. He was the beloved husband of Lucy (Casacalenda) Bucci. In April they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Antonio and Giuseppina (Della Ventura) Bucci. John was a jewelry supervisor for Sardelli Jewelry Company and he also was a WW II Army veteran who received the Purple Heart. Besides his wife Lucy, he is survived by his loving children, John A. Bucci of Warwick, Lucille Campbell of Cranston, and Anthony Bucci of Johnston. He was the cherished grandfather of 5, great grandfather of 4, and was the brother of Eddie Bucci, Angela Barnes of Cranston, and the late Fred, Gus and Anthony Bucci Jr., Anna Eaton, Dolores Levesque, and Carmella Melise. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Bartholomew's Church Laurel Hill Ave., Providence. Entombment with military honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery Mausoleum. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4-8 pm.
