91, of Cranston died February 22nd. She was the wife of the late Antonio “Tony” Merola.
Born in Vairano Patenora, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michele and Concetta (Littera) Pisaturo. She was thrilled to come to America at the tender age of 9. She was already a citizen of this great country because her father was born here before his family decided to return to Italy.
Motherhood and serving her family and her three generations of children were her greatest joy along with gathering to share Sunday dinner, holy festivals and untold birthdays with her family and siblings’ families. A lifelong communicant of St. Bartholomew Church, she raised her children in the faith and instilled in them a love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She served as a clerk for 30 years at Almac’s and Stop & Shop. She brought joy and love to all she met.
She leaves 2 sons, William Merola and spouse Deb, Paul Merola, and daughter Donna Giolitti and spouse Henry; 4 grandchildren, Christina and spouse Ricky Beyer, David Merola and spouse Christine, Lauren and spouse Matthew Rieger, and Jonathan Giolitti and fiancée Lillian Tyrrell; and 11 cherished great-grandchildren ages 2-13 years. She was the beloved “Auntie Jennie” to numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Gloria and Nicki Pisaturo, Mary Fiyod and Elizabeth Merola. She was the sister of the late Charles Pisaturo, Esq., Immacolata “Marge” Santopietro and Michele “Mike” Pisaturo, Jr.
VISITING HOURS will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Friday from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Ave., Providence.
