GIOVANNA 'JEAN' (TIRRI) CROCE

GIOVANNA 'JEAN' (TIRRI) CROCE

96, passed away peacefully at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center on Monday October 22, 2012.

Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Carmela (Bruna) Tirri. After moving to Italy with her family at age 5, she returned to the United States in 1935 at age 19 where she lived in Watertown, MA until she married in 1941. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Antonio, who passed away in 1994, to whom she was married for 53 years. They lived in Danielson, CT for 36 years until moving to Johnston, RI in 1977.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Vianello and her husband Aldo of Johnston, RI, and her son, Anthony Croce and his wife Marguerite of Jackson, NJ, four grandchildren: Julie Vianello, Christopher Vianello and his wife, Erika, Daniella McDonald and her husband, David, and Marisa Croce, and three great grandchildren.

Giovanna was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She will be deeply missed by all. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, and gardening, and of course her daily walks.

Her funeral will be on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church Johnston at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
Visiting Hours are Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
